From Tanks into Bottles

On March 29th Susanna lead a perfectly orchestrated family bottle-filling line.
Within five hours we filled 1400 bottles of white and 200 bottles of red wine.

Susanna’s father was operating the filter and ensured that the pipes are placed correctly. Gregor took the bottles from the storage, flushed them with water and gave them to Susanna, who controlled the pump speed and – now the most important task – operated the bottle-filling device. From there the bottles got handed over to Elina who managed the machine which applied the cover caps and last but not least Anna was carefully stapling the filled bottles.

It was amazing how smooth the whole operation went, even though it was the first time ever for at least Anna, Elina and Gregor to participate in filling wine into bottles.

Two weeks later Susanna applied for official certification numbers for both wines. The white wine as well as the red one passed the verification of the quality assessment center in Klosterneuburg.
What a great reward for Susanna and her parents to immediately fulfill the quality criteria for her first vintage.

There’s still about 225 liters of red wine in a barrique barrel, but that one will rest there for at least a couple of months or even until next year, before it will be filled into its own bottles.

Some 225 liters of red whine still rest for another couple of months…

The next step will be the labeling of then bottles which is planned to be finished within the next couple of weeks.
We’ll let you know…
